COOKSBURG, Pa. — Ready to take your kayaking game to the next level? Join park educator Dale Luthringer on Wednesday, July 3, for Kayaking 301, an immersive half-day session designed for paddlers eager to sharpen their advanced skills on the river.

The class runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cooksburg Canoe Launch’s new parking lot in Cook Forest State Park.

This advanced course picks up where Kayaking 201 left off, guiding participants through intensive hands-on practice with techniques like T-rescues, self-recovery, buddy assists, and throw bag rescues. You’ll also get wet while mastering advanced maneuvers like dumping with skirts—so pack accordingly!

What to Bring: Swimsuit, sturdy river sneakers, a change of clothes, lunch, and earplugs. All boats and kayaking gear will be provided.

Whether you’re training for river rescues or just love a challenge, this intimate, expert-led session offers hands-on experience in one of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful river settings. Spots are limited—don’t miss your chance to get soaked, learn more, and paddle like a pro.
